Grad students, post-docs invited to Dig With the Dean


This is your invitation to a FREE day of outdoor fun and to …

 

Dig with Dean Doug!

Date: Saturday, September 20

Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

 

• Plant a trees and help build an urban forest!

• Learn about butterflies and their habitats during a guided tour through the Urquhart Butterfly Garden

• Take guided hikes through local trails

• Meet some live birds of prey and learn more about owls, falcons, etc., that you may see in Hamilton and area

• Hear about the Desjardins Canal during a talk-and-tour

• Pitch-in to clean up the local area

• Let the kids have some fun with activities from the Hamilton Children’s Museum

• Enjoy some light snacks and drinks

• Meet new friends!

 

What you need to know:

• Bring a reusable drink container. (Water, coffee and tea available on-site.)

• No sandals or open-toed shoes will be allowed in planting or clean-up areas.

• Free shuttle is available from campus.

• Free parking on site.

• Accessible washrooms on site.

• Waivers can be signed on site.

• Trees are limited in number, so not everyone may get to plant. But there are lots of other awesome activities!
