Free public lecture: The life and death of hitchBOT

Join McMaster’s own David Harris Smith to hear more about the life and death of hitchBOT, the hitchhiking robot.

Smith, an assistant professor in the Department of Communications Studies and Multimedia, is hitchBOT’s co-creator.

The four-foot adventurer, outfitted with rubber boots and pool-noodle arms and legs, relied solely on the kindness of strangers to travel across Canada and parts of Europe. He met his untimely demise Aug. 1 in Philadelphia.

The hitchBOT event will take place Wednesday Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at the David Braley Health Sciences Centre, 100 Main Street West, Hamilton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
