Flags lowered in memory of Peter George

And in recognition of: April 28 – Canada’s National Day of Mourning

The flags are at half-mast in memory of Dr. Peter George, President and Vice Chancellor, McMaster University 1995-2010.

You can read about Dr. George’s incredible legacy here. Details are forthcoming on services to commemorate his life.

Today we also observe the National Day of Mourning. Every year on April 28 we pay our respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers across Canada who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents.

We also honour the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.
