Common Reading Program surprise book reveal to feature guest reader


The Student Success Centre is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel Coleman as a guest reader for the Common Reading Program’s surprise book launch. Dr. Coleman is a long-time supporter of the program, known for his award-winning scholarly work in Canadian literature. He has published multiple works within and outside of academia and will be reading from his latest novel, Yardwork: A Biography of an Urban Place.

The reading and surprise book reveal will take place on Wednesday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Gilmour 110 as a drop in event. Those who attend can enjoy coffee, cake pops, and healthy snacks, and can take part in a book draw for this year’s surprise book reveal for the program. The event will also feature a welcome address at 9:30 a.m. from Sean Van Koughnett, Associate Vice-President (Students & Learning) and Dean of Students, and Michele Corbeil, SSC’s Orientation and Transition Program Coordinator.

The Common Reading Program is an annual program for students and the McMaster community to engage in discussions that are relevant to university life.
