McMaster constitutional expert available to discuss Supreme Court ruling on Senate

HAMILTON, ON. April 25, 2014 – During a landmark ruling Friday morning, the Supreme Court of shopparajumpers Canada unanimously rejected the federal government’s efforts to alter the Senate of Canada.

Wil Waluchow, Senator William McMaster Chair in Constitutional Studies at McMaster University, is available to discuss all aspects of the ruling, including what it means for Canadians and the long-term future of the Senate. “Parliament, and in particular the Executive Branch, is not able to circumvent the constitution in order to achieve their political objectives,” he says. Waluchow is an expert in the philosophy of constitutional law and general jurisprudence.
