The Department of Economics is pleased to present Dr. Penny Goldberg of Yale University, Editor of the American Economic Review as a Hooker Distinguished Visiting Professor on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.

Speakers Biography:

Pinelopi (Penny) Koujianou Goldberg’s research focuses on applied microeconomics, international trade, and industrial organization. Her interests include, specifically, the effects of trade liberalization on growth and income distribution, the effects of intellectual property rights enforcement in developing countries, and the determinants of incomplete exchange rate pass-through.

Goldberg is currently the William K. Lanman Jr. Professor of Economics at Yale University and the Editor-in-Chief of the American Economic Review. She is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an elected fellow of the Econometric Society, as well as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a board member of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD).

Goldberg holds a Diploma in economics from the University of Freiburg, Germany and a PhD in economics from Stanford University.
