exception.

As part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, McMaster has produced a video detailing
the growth and transformation of the University from its early days as a Baptist
institution to its current status as one of the world's premier research, teaching and
learning centres.

The video is narrated by University President Patrick Deane, who describes McMaster's
physical and demographic evolution as well as the University's move to Hamilton from
its original location in Toronto.

“In 1930 the University moved to Hamilton, carried to a new city on the support of
alumni, the citizens of Hamilton and the members of the Baptist churches that were so
much a part of McMaster's early history,” he says. “There were six buildings then; each
is still an important part of campus life today.”

The University currently has more than 25,000 full-time students and more than
153,000 alumni.
