Vanier Veterans Part 2: Stefan Ptaszek

In this brand new video series, the Daily News catches up with some of the student-athletes and coaches making their third Vanier Cup appearance with the McMaster Marauders.

Stefan Ptaszek has been the steely-eyed head coach of the Marauders football team since 2006, and guided the team to their first national championship title in 2011.

Known for his fiery locker room speeches and good rapport with the team’s veteran players, Ptaszek is no stranger to the Vanier Cup — having won as a player (1991) and an offensive coordinator (2005) with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks before joining McMaster the following year.

In this video clip, he discusses the fact that, win or lose, McMaster’s student-athletes should be proud of everything they accomplish.

McMaster will play the University of Montreal on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium for the 2014 Vanier Cup.
