USRA Poster Session will highlight world-class undergraduate research

USRA

All are welcome to the USRA Poster Session, which takes place Thursday, Nov. 12 from 2-4 p.m. in CIBC Hall — located on the third floor of the McMaster University Student Centre. More than 60 undergraduate scholars will discuss their summer research experiences at this year's event.

Each year, undergrads from across campus apply for the chance to gain hands-on experience working in a lab, library or external community.

The Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) program allows students to experience the graduate school lifestyle before pursuing a Master’s or PhD. For many, it’s the best summer job ever.

On Thursday afternoon, more than 60 undergraduate scholars will discuss their summer research experiences at the annual USRA Poster Session.

This year’s participants examined a broad range of topics — from looking at methods to preserve and revitalize Indigenous languages, to the effect of music on the brain patterns of people with autism and schizophrenia; from the cultural significance of Goddess mythology in a local community, to the development of a new and less invasive way to detect early stage colon cancer.
