Lending a hand: Students from Mary Keyes Residence helped clean up the streets of Westdale, along with representatives from several campus residences and faculties. The annual event allows students to meet their neighbours, get involved in their new community and become familiar with the area.

Welcome Week activities were taken to the streets last week for a community clean-up.

With supplies donated from the City of Hamilton, teams of McMaster students cleaned up the Westdale neighbourhood and surrounding areas near campus.

The annual event was hosted by the McMaster Students Union (MSU), and allows students to meet their neighbours, get involved in their new community and become familiar with the area.

Dozens of garbage and recycling bags were collected Friday afternoon, and students were replenished with a BBQ at TwelvEighty Bar & Grill.

The event was also part of a number of activities students participated in for the 2014 Residence Cup. View the final standings
