The work of faculty members Mike Waddington, Jianping Xu and Antoine Deza, graduate student Danielle Simkus and undergrad Pauline Capelle is featured in the story, also posted online.

During the winter, McMaster University professors and students spend a lot of time in classrooms, labs and offices. But when the summer rolls around, many explore the world doing research. The Spec caught up with five academics whose summer projects have taken them everywhere from Hamilton Harbour to across the globe.
