Student exhibit is the bee’s keys

Photo by JD Howell.”]Student-artist Katherine Koren recently spent nearly three days installing 4600, brightly-coloured beeswax keys on a wall inside the McMaster Museum of Art's gallery.

“I was just trying to create an overwhelming pattern,” she said. “My whole thesis is
patterning, essentially. It was influenced by textiles.”

The piece, installed with the help of two friends, is part of the graduating studio art class' show href=”http://www.mcmaster.ca/museum/exhibitions_schedule.html#summa”>Wise
Up
, on view now until April 28.

The students will also host a talk at the Museum of Art Wednesday afternoon.

Part of the annual Summa program, the talk is scheduled for April 18 at 12:30 p.m.
