Staff honoured with President’s Awards for Outstanding Service

More than 130 McMaster employees were celebrated May 24 at the annual President’s Awards for Outstanding Service.

In his remarks at the awards ceremony, President Patrick Deane talked about the dedication of staff to the University’s mission and goals.

“It is inspiring to read the accomplishments of these remarkable employees,” he said. “They represent the demonstration of outstanding commitment and excellence from across the University. These award nominees remind us all that McMaster’s strength is in its people.”

The awards advisory committee received an all-time high 36 nominations this year.

Karin Dearness, research coordinator in medicine

Deanna Goral, administrator in kinesiology

Adam Kuhn, manager of community service learning and civic engagement at the Student Success Centre

Gisela Oliveira, employment services coordinator at the Student Success Centre

Ines Perkovic, librarian

Peter Self, assistant dean of graduate student life and research training in the School of Graduate Studies

Kent Wheeler, laboratory supervisor in civil engineering
