Solar calendar versus lunar calendar explained
We have just entered the Year of the Monkey, so how come this just happened on Monday instead of January 1st?
Easter is always in the springtime but there’s a period of a few weeks where it could take place. The date depends on the phase of the moon in that time period. Similarly to the Chinese New Year this occurs with the new moon sometime between mid-January and mid-February every year.
Similarly to the 12 zodiac signs in the western astrology, which occurs month-to-month, the Lunar New Year is similar but occurs on a year-by-year basis.
