Alumni named to top spots at ArcelorMittal Dofasco

Metallurgical engineering alumnus Sean Donnelly, named president of ArcelorMittal Dofasco Wednesday, is one of seven McMaster grads named to senior positions with the company.


Metallurgical engineering alumnus Sean Donnelly was appointed president of steelmaker ArcelorMittal Dofasco Wednesday.

He’s one of seven McMaster graduates with executive jobs at the Hamilton company.

McMaster grads now occupy four vice-president positions, as well as two vice-president jobs with the company’s flat-rolled operations.

In addition to Donnelly, executives with McMaster connections include:

• Science grad Brian Benko, vice-president of procurement and information technology
• Engineering and MBA grad Andrew Connor, vice-president commercial
• MBA grad Katrina McFadden, vice-president corporate administration and human resource
• Mechanical engineering grad Angela Pappin, vice-president technology
• Tony Valeri, vice-president corporate communications and public affairs
• Engineering and MBA grad Tom Vert, vice-president manufacturing 

David Wilkinson, McMaster’s Provost and vice-prestident academic, taught three of the alumni.

“It’s wonderful for us that so many of our graduates have done so well,” he told the Hamilton Spectator. “It’s great to see how well they have done.”
