Russell lecturer to discuss conflict, power

The Centre for Peace Studies presents its 14th annual Bertrand Russell Peace lectures on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28.

Johan Galtung, distinguished professor of peace studies at the University of Hawaii, the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany, the European Peace University and the University of Tromso, Norway, will present this year's lectures, which will address the theme “Conflicts Can Be Transformed, But Not By Big Powers.”

The title of his March 27 lecture is “The Big Power Approach, With Examples.” On March 28 he will speak on “Alternative Approaches, With Examples.” Both lectures are at 7:30 p.m. in HSC-1A1.
