Congratulations to Ralph Pudritz! The director of the Origin's Institute, and a professor of physics and astronomy, has been awarded the Spectator Publisher's Education Award for his dedication and contribution to community education.

Ralph received the award at the annual Partners in Education Breakfast on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at LIUNA Station.

“It's a terrific honour for Ralph,” says John Capone, Dean of Science. “He established the Origins Institute in July 2004, and has spent enormous amounts of time and energy trying to make physics and astronomy accessible and exciting to the public. He has incredible enthusiasm for his field.”

Ralph has brought international speakers to McMaster, including Clifford Will, the James S. McDonnell Professor of Physics at Washington University, and Sydney Brenner, the Nobel Prize laureate, who delivered a public lecture last night at McMaster. In addition, Ralph and his faculty have engaged the public in lively discussions about the universe at a number of Cafe Scientifique events.
