A power outage has impacted several student residence buildings on campus, and the McMaster child care centre. A broken water line damaged a power substation on campus around 2:30 Monday morning.

Mary Keyes, Matthews, Moulton Hall, Wallingford and Bates are all without power, as are ABB, the Refectory and Alumni House. These buildings have emergency power. Crews are working on the problem and the buildings will be brought back online as repairs are made. It is hoped all of the residences will be on full power before the start of the normal school day. The University will be open today.

Power is also out in the McMaster child care centre, central services building and the applied dynamics building. Water is unavailable on the west side of campus (across Cootes Drive).
