Patrick Deane is all in: Friendly wager on the table with University of Montreal

Patrick's Bet Small

All in good fun: McMaster President Patrick Deane spoke to University of Montreal Rector Guy Breton, and the pair have agreed to a friendly wager ahead of Saturday's Vanier Cup tilt at Percival Molson Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Vanier Cup bet is official.

McMaster President Patrick Deane has a high-stakes wager on the table with friend and colleague Guy Breton, Rector at the University of Montreal.

Here’s what we’re up against — the losing school will have to raise the winning school’s flag on campus and take a photo of it. That means Montreal blue could potentially be flying over maroon and grey country for at least a day.

To make matters worse (or better, for the victor), the losing university official will also have to wear the winning school’s football jersey at an upcoming Senate meeting.
