The McMaster community has a new way to share community engagement expertise, strategies and resources with each other and with the surrounding community.

McMaster’s new community engagement website, MacConnector, will provide faculty, staff, students and community members with a “one-stop-shop” for community engagement resources at McMaster.

The website provides information about community engagement initiatives currently underway, links to campus resources, and opportunities for the McMaster and broader community members to get involved in community-engaged research and education.

Faculty, staff and students will also have the opportunity to add their community engagement initiatives to a new database meant to help facilitate and coordinate community engagement projects, initiatives and partnerships. fwi

McMaster’s director of community engagement, Sheila Sammon, says the website is an important way for those on campus to connect with each other and to invite community partners to engage with McMaster.

“We believe that community engagement must be based on the idea of exchange; exchange of strategies, resources and experiences. This portal is one of the ways that we are inviting our internal and surrounding communities to contribute to this exchange,” says Sammon.  “We hope this site will serve as a connecting point, allowing the University to provide easier access to information about our resources while continuing to build partnerships with and learn from the communities we serve.”
