McMaster has maintained its spot as one of the country’s very best universities according to the latest Maclean’s magazine rankings. The University is ranked 6th in the Medical/Doctoral category, holding its spot from last year’s list.

McMaster earns high rankings as one of the country’s most innovative universities and is singled out for its high overall quality and strong reputation.

“Rankings are snapshots in time,” says President Patrick Deane. “But when these results are considered with the other global rankings from earlier this fall, it is clear McMaster is maintaining its impressive position at both the national and international levels. The hard work of our faculty, researchers, students  and staff all contribute to these very strong results.”

The Maclean’s rankings identify several areas in which McMaster is excelling. The University’s student services and its research funding for social sciences and humanities are singled out by Maclean’s. A survey of current students indicates McMaster does better than most when first-year students are asked whether they would choose McMaster again if they had the choice to enrol.
