McMaster celebrates Alumni Reunion Day

alumni reunion day 1

Every spring on Alumni Reunion Day, the campus comes alive as hundreds of alumni, friends, and family from around the world return to McMaster.

This is the McMaster Alumni Association’s longest-standing program, previously called Grads’ Day and Alumni Weekend. Classes celebrating their 50th, 55th, 60th, 65th and 70th reunion traditionally hold their celebrations during Alumni Reunion Day on Saturday, June 4.

Patrick Deane will host the annual President’s Luncheon which celebrates classes celebrating their 50th anniversary as well as welcomes McMaster’s oldest graduates including Bruce McLean from the Class of 1933 (105 years young!).

Saturday will also feature a lecture from the member of Class of 1966. From the Bench at Wentworth House to the Bench at the Ontario Court of Justice will highlight a journey of five decades from McMaster days (student government ‘You Otter Vote Otter’, Honorary Nurse and Honorary THALEIA Exec member, and Honour M recipient), to Provincial Court Judge, Honourable Russ J. Otter has seen his share of colourful stories.

From legal processes to human interest plights, the chance to impact individuals and society has been appealing, absorbing and sometimes amusing. Join Russ – a member of the McMaster Alumni Gallery and the first Canadian President of the American Judges Association – as he shares insider information about our judicial system appointment, dismissal and training processes, along with highlights and anecdotes from his career.

Happy anniversary to the Classes of 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956, 1961 and 1966, Engineering classes of 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986 and 1991 and the Nursing class of 1966.
