McMaster campus hosting cyclists for 2017 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer
Tent camp for overnight cyclists in 10 Acre Field in 2016
The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is celebrating it’s 10th year as a two-day annual cycling event to raise money in the fight against cancer. Since 2008, the event has raised over $155 million supporting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and it is currently Canada’s largest cycling fundraiser.
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world.
For the second year in a row, there is a role to play for McMaster in supporting this important community fundraising event. Campus will serve as the halfway point for riders taking part in the two-day, 200 kilometers cycling event from June 10 to 11. At the end of the first day riders will be provided with dinner, and housed overnight inside residence buildings and tents in 10-acre field.
Riders participating in the event will begin to arrive on campus around 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10 from the West, ending at 10 acre field in the North end.
There will be limited access to specific parking lots around campus leading up to and including the event dates.
