McMaster pop-rockers Of Gentlemen and Cowards will play the Late Show with David Letterman in September.

The band – comprised of engineering student Simon Edwards, sociology students Christian Fedele and Jake Warren and music student Josh Dawson – were told Monday they had won a contest hosted by Red Bull Soundstage to play the popular show, broadcast from New York City.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet,” Edwards told CBC Hamilton in an interview. “But I don’t know if it’s possible to be any happier than this.”

Formed just a year-and-a-half ago, Of Gentlemen and Cowards has released an album, won the provincial finals of the University Battle of the Bands and toured Ontario and Quebec.

The group was also in the studio recently and will soon release a new single, Warminster, on 7” vinyl. Their EP Threads is available on iTunes.
