Two Marauders rowers and a coach have been selected to join Team Canada at the FISU World University Rowing Championship in September.

Logan Madill and D’Arcy Arends are among the athletes representing Canada in Poznan, Poland this fall.

Assistant coach Jake Thomasen was also added to the team’s coaching staff.

Playing an important part in a breakthrough season for McMaster’s rowers, Madill was a member of the heavyweight men’s eight crew that won the school’s first-ever medal in the event at the OUA Championships in 2015. He followed with a fourth-placed effort alongside decorated teammate Karl Zimmermann at the Canadian University Rowing Championships in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

The captain of the Marauder women’s team, Arends similarly achieved an encouraging result at the national championship event in 2015, finishing fifth in the women’s single.
