Marauders win Mitchell Bowl, advance to Vanier Cup

Marauders quarterback Kyle Quinlan receives the national football semifinal Mitchell Bowl from its namesake, Doug Mitchell. The Marauders beat the University of Calgary Dinos 45-6 to earn the right to play for their second straight Vanier Cup Friday night in Toronto.


The McMaster Marauders will play in their second straight Vanier Cup national football championship.

The team won its 21st game in a row Saturday, defeating the University of Calgary Dinos 45-6 at Ron Joyce Stadium to claim the Mitchell Bowl.

The team will travel to Toronto’s Rogers Centre this week to play the Laval Rouge et Or for the Vanier Cup. The game is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Discounted tickets are available Monday at noon at the David Braley Athletic Centre’s business office. Tickets – with a face value of $58 – will be sold for $40.
