Marauders beat Mustangs, advance to Yates Cup final

semifinal celebration

The McMaster Marauders celebrate their OUA semifinal win over Western Saturday. With the win, the team advanced to the Yates Cup Ontario championship game, to be played at Ron Joyce Stadium Nov. 10.

With their 42-28 win over the Western Mustangs Saturday, the McMaster Marauders have earned the right to play for the Yates Cup for the second consecutive year.

Hamilton native Michael Dicroce was in the lineup for his first game of the season and scored two touchdowns – including a 103-yard touchdown pass thrown by quarterback Kyle Quinlan in the third quarter – to help the Marauders claim the win. The wide receiver, who totalled five receptions for 139 yards, had injured his ankle in training camp. His efforts earned him a nod as player of the game.

The win also tied the national record for consecutive wins, set by Laval in 2005.
