Lorna Somers honoured with international award

McMaster’s Director of Development has received an international award honouring a person who has grown the advancement profession internationally.

Lorna Somers received the inaugural John Lippincott Award for Global Advancement and Support of Education during a ceremony this week in New York City.

The award is named for the former President of CASE – the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education – which is the global professional organization for higher education fundraising, alumni relations and marketing/communications.

“This is a much-deserved honour for Lorna,” says Mary Williams, Vice-president University Advancement. “She has served both McMaster and our profession with distinction and with a personal commitment for excellence. This international award is fitting recognition of all these accomplishments.”
