Del Harnish chairs new health sciences program

Pathology & molecular biology professor Del Harnish has been appointed chair of the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program.

“Del has demonstrated a strong commitment to the education of undergraduate students, having taught students at all levels of the undergraduate programs of the University and promoted open, interdisciplinary education opportunities, facilitated by technology,” says Susan Denburg, health sciences acting associate dean academic.

In various administrative roles, including Undergraduate Council and the University Learning Technologies Committee, he has served as an advocate for students on teaching and learning issues.

His distinguished teaching career includes the 1998 President's Award for Teaching Excellence and a National 3M Fellowship.

Harnish holds a joint appointment in the Faculties of Science and Health Sciences and looks forward to the continued development of an exciting B.H.Sc. Program in collaboration with the strong faculty and staff complements in both Faculties.
